1. Commissioning Service
The commissioning service for our Philippines mission team was on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015. At the end of each worship service that morning, our church family prayed together and commissioned our team for this mission trip.
2. The Mission
The primary focus of this trip was to share the Gospel message in farming villages in Nueva Ecija (about a 4 hour drive north of Manila). This area had recently been hit by a typhoon causing most of the farmers there to lose about half of their crops, if not more. We worked with a local SBC church to reach out to these villages.
3. Devotional & Prayers
The team met every morning for devotions and prayer time during this trip. Each day also ended with the team meeting for a group prayer time.
4. Visiting Local Schools
We reached out to local public schools in the surrounding villages. Our team held a general assembly at each school with a program for the children teaching them songs and the Gospel message. We provided school supplies to the children and then had time to meet with them after the program.
We built relationships with the members of the church where we stayed to help encourage them in their work in the community. We also visited homes in the village to encourage them to come to the evangelism worship service.
6. Medical Mission
We had a local team of doctors and nurses volunteer their time to provide free medical care at a clinic we set up in the local church. We also provided free medication and vitamins to those who came. While people waited to see the doctors, our team shared the Gospel with them.
7. Sunday Worship
Praise, Sermons, Prayer, Fellowship, and Sunday School
8. Leadership Training
We provided training workshops for local church leaders and workers.
22 young people were baptized.
Our team shared their testimonies. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
